    Project Big Hauler

Well i am starting a new project not mustang related, 69 ford f250 camper special i am gonna keep the original look of the truck. May add a couple things wheels especially. My buddies dad bought this truck new in 1969 used it to haul a slide in camper. The truck has 390 engine 4spd granny gear 4.11 gears it needs a lot of body work it's got 40 years of wear and tear. I am hoping to restore the body and just bring the suspension up to mechanical standards. It has 44,700 miles on the engine.

Here are a couple before pics.

I finally got this beast running, Man does it love the gas! It runs for about 8-10 minutes idleing on a quart of gas. It took some cleaning of the fuel tank and lines to get it running on the tank. Now i need to get the brakes working then it's time to take it to the street. This truck has been sitting under a pine tree for 6.5 years. It's gonna require a little body shop love to get it where i want it.

It's a change from screwing with the coupe. One that i needed.

Well i have made some decent progress on the ole truck, Got it tuned up redone the brakes new master cylinder. I do have a caliper hanging up on me. I have a couple parts lined up, core support and inner fenders. I picked up a set of wheels from a buddy there are off his 98 they made a nice change in appearance.

Once i get the couple gremlins fixed i am gonna wire wheel it down, and tape it up and just shoot some black primer on it for now.

Well i thought i would update this, Progress has been slow but steady. I bought all new brakes for it pads, calipers, proportioning valve, shoes and wheel cylinders. spring kits & bearings. And i replaced all the steel and rubber lines. Basically everything on the brakes is new. except for the rotors and rear drums. I have a few more parts piled up to go on. I am gonna try to rebuild the carb and raplace the gas tank in the cab, Then put it on the road. I have done a few small things in the cab, new pedal pads.replaced the horn ring put in a pioneer stereo old style and replaced the door jamb switches. I put on a new fuel pump and all the lines and hoses. This thing should be pretty reliable once i get it completed. Just have the normal 40 year old truck rust, Wich will be taken care of in a couple years.

It is nice turning wrench's on my old truck.I might be looking for another one if I can get my hands on one pretty cheap.
Mine should be getting some new wiring for the electric brakes and a front add-a-leaf to bring the front back up with the plow on it.
Brian,I envy that old truck. It looks good. What kind of carb in on it?
