Street tire series have existed in the past, the issue is participation. Those not serious enough to bolt on a proper set of tires are not likely to run the whole series. Therefore they dont last. Why not just bolt up a blower and dr's on your ride and go 10.0's? Sounds alot better than trying to peddle it and stay off the wall on poopy street tires..

Point taken. Point understood. I am a casual TT guy. I just go for fun once in a while and make a few passes. Doesn't justify investing in a set of race slicks and wheels for me. I'm good either way though. Just thought it a good idea. Never knew it wa tried and failed. No reason to repeat history if it failed to generate interest.

The concept is very similar to the Outlaw 8.5 class, which pretty much only restricts tire size and power adders to one with regard to DRIVE/POWER TRAIN. The class would have to be truly street legal, track safety rules apply, etc. Just running on street tires. No DR's no Slicks. Guess you could dial it down a bit if you chose to run a higher end street legal car in the class.

Plenty of cars coming factory 650+HP with street tires on them. Have a fun.

also, most dr's are street legal tires anyway. So they are a street tire.

Hell, the 20" Pilot Super Sports on the boss, cost more than a dr.

Sounds like a recipe for disaster! My car is 7th and even its scary as hell on street tires!

No kidding. My no torque making 2V 4.6 will vaporize street tires until 4th gear. MT ET Street Radials will be street tires from now on.

Congrats on the back to back win Jeff and to everyone else who made the list. There is a lot of very close racing on the list. Cant wait for next year. I wont have anything to run but after getting over the heart issues, i plan to at least go watch. Once again, congrats to everyone and good luck next year.
