283 cubic inches of fury. I'm looking for 425+ with the Edelbrock intake.

I got the big and little back on it last weekend and since its nice out I decided to use it to go Krogering. Once you hit 4K the car really comes alive and with the drag radials on it I can actually go full throttle in the car. It's going to take some serious getting use to with the face plated transmission but I can't wait to hit the track. If only Kilkare would get the paving finished.

I finally got to the track this Friday evening to try and get a feel for the car. I know I need much shorter gears and more traction but it was nice to get some seat time. First pass I went 13.0 @ 111 with a 2.16 60ft. I was pretty much a nervous wreck on the first pass. Second pass improved to a 12.67 @ 111 with a 2.0 60ft. On the third and final pass I managed a 12.59 @ 112.5 with a 1.91 60 ft.

I have a ton of things to work on. The 4.10's are getting ditched for some 4.88's since I am crossing through the traps a good 2K below where I should be. I have some electrical gremlins that popped up on the way to the track and at the track. The speedo quits working sometimes on hard acceleration and the shift light quit working after the first pass. I am pretty sure its related a bad ground so it shouldn't be too difficult to deal with. I really need to get comfortable shifting at 7500+ which will probably be the biggest obstacle.

Also on the last pass I heard a pop in the rear suspension on the 1-2 shift that I need to check out. I have some upgrades waiting in the wings I just hope I didn't do any damage. The 4 year old drag radials just aren't going to cut it anymore.

They did get a couple of decent shots of the car though.

I forgot to post up and ask how you did. Saw you at KK and was wondering how you did as the timing lights were turned off and I couldn't tell.

    Not Quite Pure Street

Just a little update...ran a best of 11.99 @118 the second time at the track with the car. That was after a change to 4.56 gears, Hanlon built synchronized TKO 600, and x pipe with cats.

I have a full Team Z rear suspension ready to go on including double adjustable Strange shocks. I also have a Holley HP ecu system with matching Holley dash waiting to go in. Future plans call for bigger cams, bigger headers, modified Edelbrock intake, TFS R heads, and a 3.74" bore 311" short block with 14:1 compression.

The AC compressor has given up and is leaking oil. The power steering is also leaking so the AC, power steering, and power brakes are coming off and manual brakes and flaming river manual rack are going on. The rear suspension is also getting a substantial change. It will be replace with Team Z relocated uppers, lowers, anti-roll bar, springs, and Strange double adjustable shocks.
