Great project fox! I did the same thing for my son when he was 14 with a '89 GT.

He is in college now and has changed his brand loyalty, but I don't care as long as he is not afraid of picking up a wrench!

Enjoy the time together.....it goes by to fast.

Well we have pulled the cover off the new rear end and it is a stock trac-loc with a 4.10 gear. Its almost done and ready to go in.

Also pulled the cover off the old rear end to see what was broke, and its fine!!! Just has a mini spool in it with a 3.73 gear. Also has adjustable uppers and Southside lowers. Will get some pics up soon.

Thanks Setty! We got the 3 inch Prochamber on it and the pro dumps. Need to get the rear end back in now. Sounds pretty good though for a stock car.

We have been making progress but I haven't kept up on here. We bought the 91 GT from KB1 on here and stripped it and kept a few things. We are going to convert it to Mass Air and swap in the motor out of it. We pulled the motor apart and it had 1 bent push rod and the cam had 1 lobe gone. F cam will be going in tomorrow...

We swapped the rear end out for one I bought used and it made more noise than the one it had in it, so we will be using the one out of the 91 as well. It has a 3.90 gear in it.

Got the 4 inch HO Fibertrends hood on. Looks a little better! Also put Weld Draglites all the way around. This winter didn't give much time to work on it so we are getting back at it now.

He still isn't 16 but he is working his ass off on it. Maybe I can get Plated to help out on the paint!

Yeah the blue car was shot! It didn't look to bad until you pulled off the ground effects. We stripped it, sold most of the parts, and are gonna use the rest on the 86. The 86 is solid and has perfect frame rails and is not rusted out any.

Yeah it makes me happy that he is out there busting his ass working on it and trying his best to make money so he can buy parts! The 15 year old neighbor boy is building a Chevy truck so they are always helping each other out. Its good for them to have a hobby so maybe they don't get involved in dumb shit!

As far as his motor, we threw an F cam in it, got it all painted, new gaskets on and is up to putting the lifters in and intake on. I have a set of valve covers for him too that he don't know about yet! Hope to have the motor swapped out here in the next few weeks and get the mass air conversion done. It should run pretty good for a 16 year olds first car!

I may try to take it to the track this year and see how it does, maybe a 12.99! We'll see!

Been working on this one a lot here lately. We put in a new clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing. Installed the motor, and started to button it up. He painted the engine bay while I was at work one day so it looks a lot better!

Basically its a stock 91 302 with F cam, Explorer upper and lower and a 70mm throttle body. Stock T5 with a Hurst shifter, 8.8 with a 3.90 gear. It has BBK shorty headers, x-pipe and Flowmasters with new polished tailpipes.

Next thing to go is get it painted! I need a good 86 GT nose, Cobra wing, and a drivers side door.

Thanks! The car is pretty solid but needs paint bad! Strut towers are clean though so that's a good thing.
