I have 1/4” of space between the strut tower and this. I may have to cut into the wastegate bracket if it hits. I bought a stick welder and welded for the 1st time to put a reducer and 2.5” v-band on the exhaust pipe. I need a lot more practice. It doesn’t look great but it will work. I may fix it in the spring.

Put some exhaust heat wrap on there and it’ll look great.

Some off Brand bov I found on Amazon. Came with different spring kit. Cost more for the 1” silicon return hose than the bov, lol.

JB welded a 1” fitting to the intake pipe for bov return after the MAF to keep it from having unmetered air.

I’ll start it tomorrow, about done I think it was a pretty straight forward swap. I needed to get rid of the coolant hoses to the turbo since this doesn’t have any. I hope it works well.

It was good meeting you also and great mph btw at the track. Your car is super clean! I’m trying to decide to pull the motor and put H beams rods in it. The cam is good to 7000 rpm which is where I have my fuel cut off set at. The Transmission shifts around 5500 which is what I let it do. Probably could drop the 60’ and shift it manually.

I’m curious if I put bigger valves in the head if it would help?

So I’ve been deciding on if I start putting together a V8 swap for it but I sourced some parts for the head in Europe so I think I’m going to push the car a bit further. Pretty fun making a slow car fast. Nothing flows well in this engine.

So my 7th transmission is getting weak and I’m trying to decide putting a th350/th400 or 700r4 behind the current motor is worth it. I think after trying weigh the pros and cons I’ve decided to start gathering ls 6.0 and 4l80 parts for the car. First will be motor mounts and transmission mounts. I’m not huge hurry but this will be next step for the brick. I can worry cams, turbos and 8.8 rear in the future.

That's making a huge jump! As mush as I dislike the LS swaps, they sure run!

Second gear is slipping really bad on the AW72L transmission now. I have a LQ9 6.0 picked out and have a deposit on it. I should have 4L80E here tomorrow. It’s been a great many years with the Redblock motor but moving on now. I have a Holley Terminator EFI picked out. Looks really straightforward and easy setup. Contacted Holley yesterday and you can home tune easily and you can setup for 21 of boost if you desire before you need a custom tune. Just looking at a stock setup first and maybe a cam or low boost later down the road.

I don't know who you spoke with, but that's not entirely accurate. I've sold and installed quite a few of these holley units and it is the best out there as far as aftermarket efi systems go. With that being said, what you were told is not entirely true. You will need to get into the tables and make changes to work with your combo, as there is no one size fits all tune. I help with base tunes with every unit I sell. I also offer install help with any tech questions you may have. I give sbz discounts as well.

I’ll keep you in mind then. I was chatting with someone at Holley. Maybe they were selling the idea of it me. Do you sell the 550-926 model?

So the transmission fell out of the truck this morning that was delivering it. It was a good deal also. I guess I will need to keep my eye out for another 4l80e.

So I’m on my way with cleaning up the engine. I installed BTR Stage 2 Cam and probably be 100+ horsepower just by running this car NA verses the Redblock setup. I bought an oil pan that already has ports for turbo return line if I ever decide to go that route. I can still drive the car so right now I’m just part collecting.
