Did you make sure the fire cone was installed on the wastegate seat when you installed it to the flange?

It’s on there. I even covered the exhaust port during pressure testing and it didn’t affect the pressure shown on the two gauges I have. There is a slight amount of air escaping.

I got the heads blocked off at the exhaust side. It’s building pressure. I have some air escaping the wastegate and some escaping my welds. I’m going to have to weld the exhaust more and figure out how to have it seat better or get different style wastegate.

Does it have any heavier springs you could put it in?

    Nice!

Is your car leaf spring or coils?

Gotcha. What all does it take to put the 8.8 in it? Same width?

I will have to buy a mount kit and shorten one sides axle. It will be 57” wide instead of the Volvo’s 55” width. I’ll probably get it drilled to 108x5 to match the Volvos pattern.

The rear is home. I removed the brakes and I was able to get it to rotate freely. Ordered a shorter axle, brakes and rotors for it.

Hard to beat the ole 8.8. Everyone uses the explorer rear ends. I have one here for the S10 me and the boy are going to build later.

Gotta watch out for rusted axles tubes over the passenger side where they put a sticker. Seen a few rusted completely through now. Right by the leaf spring U bolt.

I’ll take a look at it this weekend. Odd that the diff is off center.

Going to drill 5x108 holes in the axles and rotors. I will have the machine shop at my work use a mill to center the holes in this 32mm 114.3 to 108 spacer better than I can with a drill press. I just ordered some drill bushings to match the stud hole diameter and rotor hole diameter.

In the last year I have been fighting with my boost issues to recently find out my intercooler was choking in the motor. The car is making the boost I want finally. Now to move onto bigger brakes and the 8.8.

Raising the rear up a bit. Car drops and is hitting the driveshaft in the tunnel when accelerating hard.
