Time to resurect this. I have bought a built longblock for it that has cp pistons, billet boport rods and a 2.5L crank. It has a ported head and a turbo cam from esslinger. It has oversize valves and springs, retainers, and locks.
I tore apart a mustang 2.3 block as this was built on a 2.3 truck block which is very different. So I have to disassemble it and have my block bored out to fit the pistons. I am pulling the built engine apart this week as time allows. It also came with an adapter and flywheel to allow me to use a v8 bellhousing and clutch behind it. Say godbye to all my cable issues finally.

Did the new motor come from Andy Law? I saw he was selling the old 4 banger turbo car.

Can't wait to follow the updates. I just ordered a turbo rebuild kit for the 86 Turbo Coupe and plan to have it on the road soon. The ugly thing is really starting to grow on me. The 2.3t is just too cool.

No big updates unfortunately. Only progress is I took the block and rod/piston assemblies to the machine shop and am waiting for him to do his stuff. Once that is done things should move quickly.

Big surprise! Got a call from the machine shop wed and he said my block was done! Shot up there this morning and snatched it up. A buddy helped me get it on the stand, and I can't wait to get new rings in and get started on it!

Sweet! It's good feeling when you get that call. Now let's see some rotating assembly parts start to be put together!

Lol, it's going to be stupid this go around. I'm shooting for 350 rwhp. Engine will take 500, but turbo isn't. I don't want that much out of it anyway. Going to order rings this week.

Well, got dealt a big kick in the nuts last night. We got the engine out, thanks Will!, and I was looking at the engine compartment, kind of taking it all in, and I noticed the damn frame rail on the driver's side is broken in half. Rusted in the strut tower area of the frame as well. So this quick swap has just got serious and places it on the back burner again. Which sucks! I am back on customer stuff and am pushing to finish all of it and then focus on my stuff before I take on any more customer big projects.

Atleast you can get repair pieces now from LMR. My boy picked up a 91 and its kind of soft around there too. May have to try them out. That's just for the frame rail. Probably have to do some metal shaping for the strut tower.

Hell yeah! Cool to hear about this one! You end up getting the frame taken care of?
