next best to motorcraft for plug wires????

WOW! Just called to get a price on plug wires and plugs from Ford for the daily work truck...a 99F150 4.6L and they want $166 for the wires and $8 a piece for plugs.

Anyone found anything more economical that is reliable that they have had good luck with for a little less coin?

It's just a spark plug wire, any brand should be fine. I'd stick with the irridium fine wire plugs though- either Motorcraft or NGK.

    I'D check with rockauto.com or http://parts.autonationfordwhitebear...-v8-gas-engine

I have had good luck with both, as much as I like to support local places, they cant touch prices for actual Ford parts from either one of the places above.

Hey thanks a lot. I appreciate it. I thought I remembered a write up on not using some of the cheap wires sold at one of the chain stores. I just didn't want to fall into that trap. I'll do the Rock auto thing. Thanks.

Rock Auto but when I buy OEM parts I use Autonation Ford of White Bear Lake. Employee pricing they even deal on Ford Racing stuff.

I've recently been introduced to the NAPA house brand and they are surprisingly nice wires.
