    Winter Upgrades

Here are a few pics of what I have been doing all winter to the 5.0. I decided to upgrade a few things and lose some weight while maintaining the driver integrity of the car.

Added new Aerospace front brakes. Aside from the 30+ lb weight loss the amount of free spin is amazing.

While at it I ditched the heavy Sportsman SR radial fronts for some M&H bias fronts losing another 11 lbs per side. Next I added a front bumper delete. I lost around 13 lbs there and also opened up some air flow to the intercooler.

Also added some very nice Braum lightweight racing seats freeing up more weight.

I had some problems with tires leaking from screws so I decided to go with Weld Bead lock wheels and new MT pro tires.

Then on to the rear. Added my rear bumper delete and parachute mount.

Next I went with Strange double adjustable rear shocks and an Antiroll bar. Both were desperately needed.

Last I switched to HPTUner software to hopefully fix a top end gremlin with the car shutting of we have been battling and added the transbrake relays and 2 step.

Its been a pretty busy winter.

Thanks man, last year was aweful. I grenaded a brand new sleeved motor on the 1st pass, then ate 2 blowers after that. Fortunately I have a good job and a very understanding wife.

I hope it dips into the 8s with this motor, seems like it should. If it makes it I will keep the plates to maintain a "sleeper" status...lol. My real goal is just an 8.99 over 150 and be able to drive it anywhere.

As soon as the tracks open It will make some passes. It seems anything reasonably close opens the first weekend of march.
