I hate to drive 107 miles to break when I can load it up and drive there in the A/C and not worry about it. I can drive it anywhere but if Im beating on it, Id prefer not to have to wait on the tow.

I am with you Brian. I have had trans issues, clutch problems, spider gear break, u joint breakage, etc... at the track. Had to tow home all of those times. Never had more than an overheat on the street while driving. I always trailer to the track now. And i also like to run slicks at the track. It is much easier to do that swap at home in my garage. Leave the radials on to drive to work or take kids to get ice cream or go on a cruise.

Event was great, "Average Joes" supposed to be a bolt on style class had a 1100 HP Vert in it. $6500 trans, $15,000 motor and a 76mm

You should've known that was going to happen. That vert is bad ass. Along with the Red twin turbo Trans Am of Jeff Zerkle's and Lutz.

Neither was Lutz but when the payout is as it was, people will come out of the wood work for it. And there is always someone with more money in their car that meets the rules. I think the vert only made 860/970. Brian Turner does the tuning on it.
