    Edgewater Track Conditions

So was it really this bad on Friday?

Just talked to a few guys here at the plant that race down there....correction, raced down there. Apparently the track owner (I'll call him Richard-head to be polite) chose to do nothing to the track after it had been under water several times due to the rains and did not tell anyone. One person kissed the wall at 100 mph at the 1/8th because of loss of traction due to the dirt and dust on the track not being cleaned off. Track staff had little reply on the matter according to sources.

Things can only potentially remain similar with the introduction of that dirt circle track they are opening up. I can only imagine the dust that track will generate into the air and potentially on the strip when the wind is in the right direction. The dirt track will be running on Friday nights during TT as rumor has it.

It may be time to start looking for a different ride. No reason for an automatic if there isn't a safe track to go make a pass at once in a while here locally, and I sure as heck am not going to KK for a Thursday night TT. The only hope is that since Watson gravel has passed on buying Tristate over in Ross there may be a hope that someone will buy that place and revive it.

May be time to start looking for a GT500. I am missing a stick shift.

I heard that track staff told a group of guys. If we're dumb enough to run in these conditions. They deserve to crash.

Dick wears his name well. He has ZERO compassion for the T&T crowd.

Not sure his name. It was a red Fox Body, believe it was a notch back as I recall from seeing the video only once on this coworkers smart phone. Couldn't tell the year because the front end was torn off. Was caged, and running slicks.

This goes beyond that. They do actually drag and sweep the track at no-prep events. Especially mud and dirt from a recent flood condition. In one of the recent Street Outlaw no-prep episodes they shut down due to condensate forming on the track. It was an extreme safety concern just as mud, dirt, and heavy dust on the track would be. E20 has been virtually no-prep on T/T Friday for at least 10 years. The last time I recall them spraying the entire length of the track on T/T Friday would have been 2007ish.

I don't think I will be back down there anytime soon. Fuck Dick and his track. They knew how the track was and still took their money. Then told them if they are stupid enough to run on it, they will take their money.

We have all seen this. He don't care.

I just hate to put my car in the wall, damage it and possibly hurt myself or others. Its not worth it to me. Kilkare has a great surface, just needed some brains to drive it. Charlie knows what is the latest and greatest things that people are doing and want to see. He just needed the control to make it happen.

Chad we need to get you back to Kilkare now and see if we can change the way you feel about it. Don't let the 1 time there leave a sour taste in your mouth!

It is. It was everybody's first time at one point. He just happened to make his first time on a shit track. Its a shame because Edgewater is a great place. Just need someone who cares to run it and keep it up.
