    CX Racing Turbo Kit

Anyone have any thoughts on after market turbo kits? I’ve been researching and have settled on a 76mm single turbo kit from CX... planning to purchase in 1-2 months.

    Have a link to it?

I have the On3 kit on the coupe I just bought. Seems to fit decent.

    1993 Reef Blue hatch, 347, 3550, and a kit.

Cool, I looked at the on3 system as well. Here’s the link:

I'm sure it's fine for 2k. Keep in mind it will most likely will not fit, but if u got fab skills then ur good. Also you will want to upgrade parts as you go. That's a $100 turbo, $40 wastegate, $30 bov and $60 intercooler.

I have a honda tuning friend that has bought cx racing turbo stuff. It turned out very well for him. Pretty good parts for the price actually.

A coworkers son bought this kit and made 380whp in his cammed fox body body. I remember him not making power until later in the rpm band. Not sure if he had wastegate or Bov issue. I put t3/4 50 trim Ebay turbo in my 2.3 sohc Volvo and the power picks up around 3000 rpm. It would be much sooner with a 5.0 engine if setup right.

Good to know, I’m planning to upgrade to the dual ball bearing turbo, seems like a no-brainer for $250...

No actual firsthand knowledge of their kits but I've heard pretty good things about them. The turbos in particular but have heard good things about some of their kits too.

Cheap, fast or reliable. Pick two.

Since hellion quit making their kits, I’ll have to go cheap, fast and hopefully not too unreliable...

Do you know how much boost he was running to make that rwhp? The kit comes with an 8 psi wastegate, so the turbo will be able to make 16 psi max boost pressure. 16 psi should be able to double the HP output of the engine. Found this link that was pretty insightful on wastegate operation.

That is who built my last turbo kit. I liked their work and would buy from again.

Yeah pony down is on a different level than on3 or cx but all of the hotsides will work, plenty of guys have been fast with flipped shortys.
