    1992 Coupe project

As you all know, I picked up a 92 Coupe off of a buddy of mine that is also on here slow86fiveoh (Marcus). It was on here for sale a couple times I think. Charlie Taylor had it, then Jason Crabtree. Its a pretty clean little car.

As for the car. It has a stock 5.0 that has been freshened up. Stock down to the clutch fan and throttle body. It has an On3 kit with a 70mm turbo set at around 6 pounds right now, 39lb injectors, PiMP XS system and a 255 pump. Transmission is a PA C4 with a PTC converter. Converter is a little on the tight side so it may get pulled and sent back for a re stall. 8.8 has a 3.27 gear. UPR uppers and lowers, and Mac exhaust.

Already swapped the front suspension. Added the Team Z K member and A arms, Strange struts with 14-150 springs and manual steering rack.

Took it to Edgewater a few weeks back. Made 2 passes, both not making any boost till just at the 60' marker. Went a 12.67 @ 107. Plenty of room for improvement.

I have a ported truck lower I got from Greg (Kwik92GT) to go along with the Systemax upper and a 70mm throttle body. A set of Holley heads also came with it.

I have the 5 lug front spindles and rotors that I salvaged off of the 94 that I picked up from Chad393na that I may use to swap it over to 5 lug so I can run the 17" Alumastars on the front.

Plans are to crank up the boost and see how it does. Id like to throw a set of Trick Flow 11r heads on it as those will allow me to grow into them later on. Not sure how they work with the stock bottom end though.

REALLY like this car as you already know. I think if I was you I'd go ahead and put the Holley heads on it along with the ported lower/Systemax upper, maybe toss a TF Stage 1 cam in there if you have the means/time etc., and then tune it and see how the converter acts after the upgrades, I'm betting with the extra power it'll loosen to where it works much better. Turning the boost up as the car sits now may do the same thing as well in regards to the converter. Just my .02.

Thanks Craig! I need to down size some and that may be happening soon. I currently have 5 of them in the garage. Way to many to keep up with!

That's what I should do! I keep trying to tell myself that! The parts are just laying there. I can only hope that it free's up the converter some. It should run pretty good at that point.

That one is still in the boys 86. Had it set up to go in the old Model A truck I was doing, sold the Model A and kept it. My boy wanted it so he got it. Hasn't been drove yet. Start up and idle is all its seen.

I'd trade a forged piston shortblock for it, just to get the original engine back in that GT

Thanks! I like the old school draglites on it. Kind of brings back the memories of my first one. May just have to keep it that way.
