Nothing new on this one yet. Got it out and drove it finally the other day. Just don't seem to have the power it should. Went to check timing and of course the old Ford Racing balancer has the marks wiped off. So now Ill be replacing it just to get started. Changed the oil and getting ready to give it a tune up to see if it helps any. Its sat for a while so anything will help. May try to take it to the track and see how it does where its at and go from there.

Man, I wouldn't do that. I'd use a piston stop and a 3 buck timing tape from summit or jegs. I can explain how to do it pretty easily either here or in a text. Hate to see you go through all that time and expense for something that's easily repaired.

I may try that now that you mention it.

It has a chip in it but who knows what it is. It just don't have the power that it should. I talked to Adam at S&M bit he didnt remember tuning it. Need to just start fresh.

I bought it from a guy named Scott Brown from Fairfield. He said Adam tuned it but didn't remember when and Adam didn't remember tuning it at all. Hard to say who did what and when.

Piston stop and a timing tape like Mike suggested and you'll be good to go, at least as far as knowing what timing you have in it, be cool to see you get it out there and just see what it does.

I may try to take it this week to the track and see what it does on motor. Bottle is empty and I don't trust the tune.

That'd be cool, yeah, I definitely wouldn't spray it not knowing where the timing is or what's going on with the tune. I seen above where you said it feels down on power, it might have some timing knocked out of it so it can run on the spray but there's no way of knowing for sure right now. Have you talked to the previous owner to see what all they know?

Only when I bought it. He didn't have much info on it. Adam tuned it, didn't remember when, didn't know how much power it made, didn't know about jetting, didn't remember what it ran, pretty much didn't know anything. Im just going to start fresh and go from there.

Hope today that the rain holds out. Id like to make a pass or two in it.

Why don't you swing by on your way home from the track and I'll pull a copy of the tune off? We'll look it over and can make a decision on what to do.

Hey Mike, I just got home and saw this and looking at my phone I saw your text. Ill give you a call in the morning.

Managed to get 1 pass in during the sprinkle session. 12.43@109. 1.77 60ft. Spun out of the gate some, but just felt slow through the gears. Drove straight as an arrow though and stopped good. Its a start!

Not too awful bad, guessing there's probably a good bit left in it.

For what it is, its slow. 347, 9.7:1 with the Z304 heads, .563/.584 hydraulic roller, Victor Efi intake, 75mm tb, Kooks headers, 3550, with a 4.10 gear.

It has the plate kit on it but the wiring is all jacked up and I wouldn't trust it if I had too. It still has the clutch fan on it also. Full weight car with stock K member and A arms, lowering springs and some stiff rear suspension also.

It will get there. Gives me something to go off of for now.

Get a proper suspension under that thing and figure out that timing then it should pick up a good bit of time without doing any other work.

That's what Im thinking. Going to order some parts this week for it. K member, A arms, coil overs, struts, and rear springs. Then just a basic tune up.

This pass was made on last years fuel, same plugs and fuel filter, unknown timing, and loading up. Not bad for all those issues I guess. Just gives me a place to start.
