I bought the one that is in my car for 350 delivered to my door and the gen 2 trans controller is 1200, so 1550 total. And it'll handle a ton of power stock as I and tons of others have demonstrated. My case is unique because most who say they fail around 700 have had them in an 11 up chassis. I'm prob 1k lbs lighter, so I'm going to continue going faster with mine til something lets go. I doubt a 400 that could take this power level would be any cheaper and mine has 2 overdrive gears. I'm buying another trans to go through and getting a converter to have in the wings for when this pile grenades.

With ancillary swap parts costs being similar such as exhaust, kmember, cooling etc, the major cost difference is the engine itself and electronics. The 5.3 engine and holley terminator will be cheaper than an f150 coyote and control pack/holley. But once you factor in cam/lifters/pushrods/springs on the 5.3, its pretty much a wash.
F150 11 to 14 engine can be bought for less than 1k now. Use a Holley termx if you want to retain the variable valve timing, HP kit if you don't combined with a set of phaser elims. 6r80 from an f150 is 350 or so delivered if you search. Or, use a 4R70W and let the term control it. I've done 3 swaps so far, so if you have questions, I can answer them.
Got this one out and some what cleaned up. Drove it about 3 miles. Seems to do ok. Not yet sure how this one will end up.
