Thanks guys. He finished up yesterday, need to get rock down next week and then crushed cement after that. I called the pole barn company and they said I am scheduled for July, but it may end up being end of June. Can't wait, it's been a long 10 months.

It sucks building right now with the cost of lumber through the roof. I haven't bought any steel siding lately so Im not sure how bad it is right now. Hopefully not to bad.

Bought the kit in March and locked the price in. But yeah, the reason I'm building 60x64 is because it cost twice what it did 2 years ago. So I had to go half size. When the economy crashes in a year, everything will drop in price.

Prices are out of control right now. I was going to do a porch and a roof but Im going to hold off for a little while and see what happens. It has to come down sometime Id think.

Depends on if it is inflation driven or demand driven. At the rate govt is printing money to give away it may never come down. Last year while building my media room I experienced a large increase in prices on 2x4 studs. The first batch I bought in May were about $4 each for in untreated premium wood (the better stuff). By November time frame the prices were almost $7 each for the same. The pressure treated stuff was up to over $9 as I recall. That was due to shortage mostly due to people building during the pandemic and some due to govt printing money to hand out.

I just took a look at a PC upgrade for home. Prices on these units are back almost where they were in the early 90's. Shopping for a used 13/14 Mustang I have seen that some places are asking more for a used one then what they sold new for. Some of the latter gets blames on the CPU chip shortage. But groceries likewise have jumped and gas is at $3 for 87octane and we are just in May. So I doubt we are going to see prices come down much if ever. Hope I am wrong, but if inflation and or demand doesn't get us, our out sourcing of commodities to China and turning back to the Middle East for oil will. USA is becoming like a coal mining town. The mine owns the town and the stores. You get paid in script that is only usable at the local town stores. The mine owns your home you pay to rent. The mine inflates the prices at the stores. The mine controls your paycheck. The mine owns you.
