Me and you talked about it this last year at your cook out. One of my bucket-list goals is to do a leg of the powertour so maybe a few of us should set a goal for next year.. But it all depends on if a leg of the tour will be close enough to us

Screw being close, if you just wanna go one year we can take my car and take turns driving. It just sucks because I have no clue when the army is getting me for a month in the summer time. I can't say much but ill be on a boat with a fifty cal hopefully this summer.

I will be on the first few stops. Saturday , Sunday and Monday for sure. My uncle typically has a car in the Dynomax display every year , so I should be somewhere in that vicinity at every stop.

I had a blast last year on the 2011 HRPT in my '90 notch. I will be going again this year, but this year my 17 year old son will be driving us in his car (non-mustang).

Right now we are leaving on Thursday stopping at the Mustang plant and doing a tour. Then heading into the big "D" and cruise Woodward. Then Friday doing all the garage crawls and the unofficial kick off party Friday night.

Only doing the first 4 stops, due to limited vacation and funds.

Saturday June 2, Detroit, MI - GM Proving Grounds, Milford

Sunday June 3, Muskegon, MI - Downtown Muskegon

Monday June 4, Champaign, IL - Assembly Hall, University of Illinois

Tuesday June 5, Madison, IL - Gateway Motorsports Park

I would love to meet up and cruise together!

I know this is a little redundant but here goes. I've been visiting all my car sites and posting this up:

    Hot Rod Power Tour 2012

Anyone going this year? It's $80 to register. you can do 1 day or all 8 the price is the same. I'm going for the Long Haul. If you want Long Hauler status (start to finish) you need to check-in at Detroit before the counter closes on Saturday June 2, make all the daily check-ins and be present on June 9. I know some of you have done it in the past. I went 4 days back in 2007 and had a blast. If anyone was planning on participating I was hoping to get a caravan together. The tour is open to all car enthusiasts and their cars; classic, new, stock, modified, projects and even rentals (preferred against but it happens). I'm not taking the Mustang this year. I'm trying to get a caravan together, united we stand, it's always nice to have backup. I'm looking to leave Dayton June 1 Friday morning to arrive in Detroit in the afternoon. This is early registration but then we get to bypass the line on day one.

    Here's the schedule.
June 2 - GM Proving Grounds 3300 General Motors Rd. Milford, Michigan 48380
June 3 - 'downtown' Shoreline Drive at 4th Street Muskegon, MI (163 mi) 49441
    June 4 - U of IL Assembly Hall 1800 South 1st Street Champaign, IL (287 mi) 61820
June 5 - Gateway Motorsports Park 700 Raceway Blvd Madison, IL (178 mi) 62060
June 6 - Buffalo Run Casino 1000 Buffalo Run Blvd Miami, OK (315 mi) 74354
    June 7 - Kicker Audio Headquarters 3100 N. Husband Stillwater, OK (160 mi) 74075
June 8 - QuickTrip BallPark 1600 Lone Star Parkway Grand Prairie, TX (272 mi) 75050
Saturday June 9, 2012 - (baseball park) Long Haul Photo and awards (1375 miles)

I'm still in Afghanistan but will be home a few days before HRPT to pack the car and rest. Send me an email and I'll put a distro together.

When I get home I'll have a phone number. I think I'm going to get a cheap walmart pay as you go deal. We should all meet up and cruise together.
