Those guys are tools. Black Metal is the poorest excuse for music that I have ever heard. I do find some of the costumes and props entertaining though.

Eh...well, they're mostly Norweigan. Death metal and black metal are the two most hilarious types of metal out there. Seriously, they make me laugh every time I hear them. But the black metal dudes take the cake. Self proclaimed "devil worshippers". I remember back in the early nineties they burned a bunch of old churches in Norway. In fact I think there were a few that got pinned for murder from it. A classic example of how people always try too hard to push the envelope to look intimidating. Remember how scary everyone thought manson was? Now he's like a little puppydog.

LOL having said that...I do like some of Dimmu Borgir's songs, because they sound like movie soundtrack stuff. I never listen do the words. Hell, you can't.....sounds too much like cookie monster. I do like their compositions and arrangements.

That metal by numbers song just about sums up most of any metal bands these days...there are some decent bands out there but most of them follow the same formula of "Im hardcore look at me, I'm metal as fuck cause I scream like a jackass" at least bands like killswitch engage are trying to reintroduce actual vocals into their songs.

Yeah like i said, i listen to a mix of just about everything except country (unless you count Johnny Cash as country), including a select few rap artists...what can i say i love bass. Even as silly as most of those bands are with their face paint and all that hardware they wear, they still have a lot of talent to play some of the stuff they play, even if it's not something that suits my taste i can still recognize the talent in it. I just don't think the Halloween outfit is necessary..

Once the vocals become growls, I'm out. I listen to anything from country to Slayer, but just can't get past the cookie monster vocals. There may be some quality music somewhere in all that mess but I am not going to look that hard.

As long as the vocals match the music...i can rock to the cookie monster vocals. I figure, chances are i won't care what they're singing about anyways since i'm in it mainly for the music.

I was working on the Stang yesterday...sunday meditation in the garage.
Listening to Hard Attack on Sirius and a "Cookie Monster Metal" song came on.
I laughed damn near all the way through it!
