My point would be, it's not Capribangerz either. I understand your point, but you do see mine, right?

I'm in agreement with you 93cobra, it should be easy to see the Ford powered part.

I guess I'm thinking too much about how the sanctioning bodies handle their rules, concerning body styles, as long as they are Ford powered. I will stand by the transmission argument, that a powerglide (or any trans), is allowed.

what is so hard to understand...that these questions raised don't even fall into a gray area....
Darn, there goes my plan of putting my engine in something 1000 lbs lighter j/k.

Can't wait to see some of these fast Stangs in action this year! Good luck to all

A mustang is still a mustang no matter what kind of motor is in it. But I see what every one is saying. No big deal! But I still think its stupid.

If ford made a transmission that would hold up to some decent power without spending 3000.00, tranny's wouldn't be an issue either. Atleast they got the 8.8 and 9" right.

Wait, if i'm not mistaken the member wanting to run the LS1 motor in his stang said he only wanted to run mid 10's???? Yet everyone is in agreement it is going to take a 9sec car to even make the list this year? I think it would take about 1/2 the cash to get a small block chevy to run 10's as it would a small block ford so why wouldn't you build the chevy?? If the rules aloud. Unless you are a true blue ford guy. I respect the original rules set forth by Vinny, however as time changes and the site grows the rules should be discussed.........IN THE OFF SEASON..........Think how many guys have been building their cars around a certin set of rules and when the rules are changed in the middle of a build who is at the advantage??????? I have nothing aginst a person building whatever powerplant they choose (it's fun watching people who can't tell the differance between a sbc and a sbf) If you dont alow GM parts maybe you shouldn't allow say Fuel cells, mini tubs ect.........becuse they arn't "Ford" original parts????? I am only saying to many rules and you will loose the heart and soul of what Vinny wanted this is all to be about and you may start loosing interest....Think of the bigger sanc. bodies that have changed the rules so many times the interest has gone down. I say we keep to the rules set forth for the Dozen that is why a "other Dozen" list was made and when the season ends there should be a meeting of the minds to discuss this and any other issue that may arise.......WoW just my $.02

If you look at any race org like the nmra ( a ford based org ) you can run ford car with ford power . You can run a toytota trans and rear end in it if you want along with your japan wheels and mexican tires . The only thing that they car about is a ford motor . If you go to a lsx race with a f body with a ford motor in it they would ( first beat you up ) say you cant race !! there nothing wrong with putting any motor in a mustang if your up to the challange. I think thats cool!! But thats why we have a other dozen list !!

Even if a Chevy motor were to be allowed on the Dozen, I doubt he or she would get any respect from the rest. Even tho its not speced in the rules it should be taken as a given that the DD should be for Mustang and Capris that are Ford powered.
    I love F bodies!!

Here is the answer! Vinny Wanted it that way for a reason!

Highly agree that if it is not a Ford powered Mustang that it falls in the Other Dozen list...

Rules have been updated slightly to end the discussion:

    - A true street, Ford powered Mustang/Capri with insurance, tags and registration matching the car.

Now in anticipation of the next volley of rule bending.....Ford powered includes other blocks/heads/intakes/etc. that are manufactured to the Ford specifications. In other words - Dart Blocks, aftermarket heads and intake are acceptable as long as the aftermarket components COULD bolt up to a stock Ford block.

Remeber guys - this whole deal is to keep things affordable and fun so that everyone can play. We are NOT going to make a detailed rule book.

I have an idea why don't we put together a Dirty Dozen committee and pick like 5 members from the board and when a rule is challenge or a request is made to change it we have the board discuss it and vote on it. Then whatever the board says goes and each year we can mix the board up a little. Just a suggestion that I think would work well.

I dont think 5 would cut it. I think the past 15 guys that made the list at the end of the year should be the "comittee"

Fun is too much of a blanket statement. I think it would be fun to get my car done and run a low 13.xx in it. Others will have fun running a low 9.xx. My costs for my car will be much lower than the other guy. But fun is fun.

you guys are so fast now to even make the dozen, that come on admit it, its not affordable for everyone to play.

I know I don't have a stang now, but have you guys considered like having 3 et class dozen lists.

    like one for 8-9sec cars
    one for 10-11sec cars
and one for 12-13 sec cars

I think your site would have alot more fun with it as a whole, and you would see alot more particaption and a better time at the track because everybody would be there. and it would be fun to see all the competition

I know it would be alot of extra work to keep everything updated, but it was just a idea I had for you guys.
