Been working on modifying my fuel tank to accept my 450 and 525 Walbro pumps, wasn't sure how I has going to get them hung but after I cut a hole cut in the tank I was able to see where everything needed to be and came up with a plan to use my Pro-M hanger. I'm working on it tonight and will take more pics of how I'm mounting the pump to the hanger, etc., stay tuned. Don't roast me too bad as I'm doing all of this with very basic hand tools as I don't have access to proper tools at the moment. lol

    Starting point.

You have coil overs also? Curious how you have your shock bar mounted and being able to use a stock tank.

Had to ditch my original plan tonight, I played around with it all night and finally decided I'm going to change it up just a little bit. I should be able to get it done tomorrow and if it goes well I'll get some pics and post them up.

I had originally built this to have a fuel cell and another cell for the intercooler, back when I thought I wanted to go radial racing SMH, you can still see the framing for them, we kept all that in there and was able to get the stock tank to work.

Here's a pic from the top side prior to the floor being put in, you can get an idea of what we did, I have coil over shocks but my springs are in the stock location, well kinda lol, I'll post several pics here so hopefully you can see how everything is mounted. Sorry about the glare in this first pic.

From bottom after floor was put in. You can see one of the U brackets with the factory type strap attached.

You can get an idea of how close the shocks are to the tank here.

Here's a pic of the the coil in the "factory" location setup.

Thanks Greg for the pictures! Sure is a clean set up. Ive always wanted to do the mini tub set up with a stock tank. I don't want to run a fuel cell or an external pump.

I would check with Dave at Team Z or Chris at Behind Bars, I'm betting both have had to make this work at some point and will have a solution.

OK, after a few failed attempts I think I may have something that is at least a workable solution for now. I'm pretty sure I'll be changing a few things with this next winter or even later this summer as I'm not crazy with how it's turning out (seeing it differently in my head) but it keeps me moving forward and able to get this bitch running. I will post more pics of it when I get it completely finished.

Shot of how the pumps sit in the well through the fill hole, hard to see I know but it's the best I could do. I left the spacing tabs on the bottom of the hanger brackets to be sure they wouldn't be sucked up against the bottom of the tank. The gasket for the lid is 1/8" thick so I don't think that would've been a problem anyway but never hurts to make sure.

Still working on it, got most of the fuel system knocked out now, plumbed the cooling system, and have started on some of the wiring, things are taking longer than I had hoped but still moving forward. Have a couple of hurdles that I just found to get over but I have a plan for them.

This is what I came up with for the fuel pumps hanger, took way longer to complete than what I want to admit but should it do the job for me.
