Yeah i would probably still have trouble with your coupe... maybe i need bigger pills...
Craig has me nervous with this tko issue though. I have been running mine low 11s for 3 years and it hasnt skipped a beat. I leave around 5k. I wonder if the clutch is the difference? I have a ram 900 series disk and a light flywheel and the lowest non adjustable pressure plate that ram offers for my car. The 900 series disk slips when its cold but gets grabby as it heats up. The theory is a little slip on the line but holds power on the big end. I think it is basically the metallic friction side of the ram hd on both faces instead of just one side of the hd clutch. For my little engine with a little spray it works really well. I will have to see what more power does to my poor tranny and clutch though...

Application of power via operator and or clutch are the biggest factors of failure.
Got the trans install started last night. Dropped off the New slip yoke and old DS to get shortened up and re-balanced this am, then back to work this am. Pheew, Im getting too old for this shit.
Im thinking this is going to be the last manual trans I install, so hopefully it lasts a while.

This trans jack from HF, works pretty well. It rolls around smoothly and adjusts easily with a 1/2 drive.

New Stifflers cross-member installed and the trans is IN! I will be running a Tilton external oil pump to push oil straight to the main gear assembly via a -6 line (trans already had the hole where it needed to be) so ill need to fab up a mount and another micro switch. Im thinking Ill have it activated with a WOT micro switch, but then Ill also have to come up with a Neutral safety switch.

A few other wires to splice, install the DS (ready next week) add fluid, mount the shifter, install exhaust, then take it out and see if I can break this one as well...Joys of a stick car.
Looks great!!!
REALLY hoping this one stays together for ya!
Me too. I want to keep it a stick car, but Damn, if its only going to last 7 hits, then I have to change something.
My Kindergarten education for using scissors came in handy last night! I needed to make a mount for my trans/diff pump, so I grabbed some cardboard to make a template and went to work!

Hopefully, next week, my DS will be ready so that I can get this back on the road. I think Ill leave the slicks off for awhile so that I can enjoy driving this and be able to put some miles on it. This breakin shit is getting old!
Enjoy it
Wow was it HOT in the garage this weekend! I managed to get the pump mounted and started on the wiring under the dash.

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...7e26b2dc_o.jpg
I screwed up and mis-marked the holes, so thats why the 2 are bigger.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...7480e3ed_o.jpg
Ill wrap the collector with some Heat Wrap to help keep the pump alive, and maybe make a heat shield for it.

Hopefully, my DS will be finished this week and I can get this back on the road. Im keeping the slicks off of it till I get the Tamer figured out, breaking shit is getting old and expensive. :(
What’s the pump for?
HOPEFULLY, fingers crossed, Ill be firing up this back up tonight. I have a buddy coming over tonight to help me with bleeding the TOB and installing the exhaust. When thats done, its time to hit the switch and go for a ride. Im curious to see the difference in the 5 speed vs 6 speed. NO slicks will be on this until I get some miles on the Magnum and get the Tamer figured out. Hell, Ill probably just wash this season and just drive it on the street.
Forgot my cutters the other night, so I went old school...

Im REALLY hoping I can figure this shit out as I WANT to keep this a 3 pedal Stang. It would be too easy to slap a PG in this, but Fuck all that. Manpedal FTW!!!
Wish me luck...
It actually looks like it may work, let me know.
Do you think the tamer is what was causing the issues?
How you liking the 6 speed so far?
Got everything finished up under the Mustang, including wrapping the exhaust, where it comes close to the pump.

So I put 50 miles on it on Saturday and another 70 miles on it on Sunday. I remembered a spot that the locals use for evening festivities, and once I got there, I snapped some pics...

Im thinking I need some wider tires up front, as I was having too much fun in the twisties and hills on the backroads!
THAT'S a short "track", I'd have to be a hard pass on running someone there. lol
Just throw the Maximum Motorsports catalog at it! :cool1:
Great day on Saturday! I managed to get down to 11.86@125 on Street Tires and had fun running in True Street. I did miss my slicks thou, and hopefully, I can get this tamer figured out so that I can get back to the 10s.
New 15x7's upfront.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....Nice
THANKS!
I was fortunate enough to get some thumbs up and nice car from some of the Fans in the crowd...I guess being around it everyday, I tend to overlook all the hard work that Chris put into the body work and paint. Heck I drove it to work today, and as i was walking in, I had to do the "turn & look" :cool1:
Wish I could've made it there to check it out in person, pretty sure the pics don't really do it justice. You need to throw some juice at it! :smokin:
I finally got the Coupe to a Dyno on Saturday. I was hoping for 420ish, but was rewarded with 455/401 on a Dynojet!
A buddy of mine wanted to ride over with me. "You arent trailering it with this rain?"

We had to return to my garage and beat the inside of the drivers side fender in. Im guessing the springs have settled and its been a while since I had a passenger in it. So that took a minute and made us late. I made up for it on the Parkway as we saw north of 100mph for most of the 45 mile trip.

What year is the engine? Mods? Great numbers!
18 intake, headers, e85??
Need yes, yes and yes!
Made it up to E2O this past Saturday and I got to hang out with Shannon & Walter and ended up seeing a few other SBZ members! The early on rain drizzle, lasted about 5 minutes, but then the E2O crew did a great job on the clean up to get us back racing!
