I'm a nobody but should street cars be driven on the street? Street classes do a cruise and hot laps to compete should we do atleast driven to the event? If it breaks then it can be trailered home??
Ok cool then, I didnt make it this time, I'm in Texas for the Mil. I'll be at the Fall even though
We had a great time Craig! Even though I was probably the SLOWEST car ('87 Cougar )there, I had fun trying to get my 13.99. I am still upset with you for not making a "slowest car" shootout sticker. Just Kiiiding!!
Hell my car was probably the slowest one there to be truthful lmao but i gave it hell
That was a great looking Cougar i talked to you while we were in the staging lanes you have alot done to it and its by far the best looking one i have seen in a long time
I liked watchin the Cougar! It looked like it was flyin for a stock looking car! Im sure its a fun driver!
Dave, how much are pix?
My stock 01 mustang gt, Auto with just flowmaster's its best pass was a 14.70
man i wish i coulda made this, hope there's a fall one so i can make it.
how bout the 2nd week of october?
good fall air?
Wow..maybe you should've handed out tissues instead of stickers, Craig.
I'm seeing official SCS crying towels available in the near future!
Slacker cracker. Lol
Sounds like that four letter word that starts with a E because he has some people spending their dime so he can go play. Pretty simple put together a sponsor proposal and you might get sponsored. You need to remember Terry has a history in the NMRA which a lot of us don't, so getting sponsors was a lot easier than just buying a "NEW" car.
Well I would be happy with half of what's on his car. Hell I would be happy with getting my matching rear rims so I can even get in the game.
I love when the middletuckians come in under their secret names to run their mouths. POST IS DIRECTED TO bbford notice the quote.........
Sorry that i've taken my brand new car and beat the shit out of it since the day after buying it. Bought it Saturday, hit the track with 100 miles on it Sunday and have been beating the shit out of it since.
Sorry I drove it to North Carolina 11 hours, raced it, drove it home.
Sorry I drove it 4 hours to Bowling Green, won the race, and drove it home 4 hours and people recognize that and want their name on my car.
Anyone on here that says they wouldn't take $1000, or $2000, or $3000 or whatever $ or a part, to throw a sticker on their car for the year is just flat out lying.
Come the end of the year, the stickers will come off, and the car will still be as fast. Sorry your tired ass middletucky crap isn't recognized by anyone other than the cops. Probably why you have to change cars so often.
You think it's easy to get near 4000 lbs down the track, factory transmission, on drag radials, in damn near 9 second e.t. marks, all while being able to drive it 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 hours, you have another thought coming.
I'll tell ya what, i'll use Tim's car as an example since you did. You put enought ballast in his car to bring it to 3900lbs, trailer it down to Amelia walmart, we'll drive the 63 miles to kil care on some drag radials, NO changes. No pills, no pulley changes, no fuel, no air, nothing. We'll do a best 2 outta 3 and then make the 63 mile drive back.
Or, if we really want to do a real battle of the street cars, we can do the same thing this weekend and drive them to Chicago and race them at the nmra event. Should only be a 4 or 5 hour drive. I know i'm up for it. Fuel would be allowed of course since it's a long drive.
Thats not a shot at Tim's car, it was just the car that bbford used in the example for the others reading.
I drove my car to work 5 days this past week, one of them in the rain, drove to the track Saturday and yesterday over an hour with no changes to the car other than air (oh wait, 45lb seat removed saturday), and to a cruise in an hour away on Sunday.
The car was out every day but Wednesday this week. I don't know many people that drive "race cars" 500 miles / 6 days a week or 4 or 11 hours to a race. My car is not only "not" a race car, it is a true daily driver.
This race was Craigs race. The race was ran by Craigs rules, and the outcome was what it was. There is no disputing that and there never was.
How bout this though, bbford. We do another shootout under my rules, since my car is so unimpressive.
Heres my rules.
Licensed, Insured.
3900lb minimum weight, drag radials, factory transmission (the trans that came in the car, not an aftermarket one, manuals allowed upgraded clutch, auto's allowed a converter). Ahh fuk it, you can have your aftermarket transmissions.
60 Mile cruise to the track. Only change allowed is air pressure. Best 2 outta 3 and then we'll make the 60 mile drive back. When can I expect your car to be ready for the race?
Anyone else welcome of course as well.
"Anyone on here that says they wouldn't take $1000, or $2000, or $3000 or whatever $ or a part, to throw a sticker on their car for the year is just flat out lying."
Well said , i agree 100 percent .
I know my shits not the fastest thing on the planet, i'm not stupid.
But for what it is. A true daily driven, heavy ass pig of a street car, i think it's pretty bad ass.
In the end, thats all that matters.
I've been very fortunate on getting help with this car. But it's not like I haven't worked for it. I've been racing part time to full time in the NMRA and locally for almost 12 years.
No one is saying Tim's car is just as streetable than yours, so there's no need to "put ballast in his car and all that dumb shit, we know your car is fast and reliable, no one can doubt that, and if they do they're apparently blind. BUT Tim's car fit the rules of the street car shootout, and he won. That's all there is to it. Make 10,000 excuses, complaints, whatever, and there's no denying that he did what was asked, and did well.
Not saying you made excuses, just saying in general.
Am I the only one seeing that Terry is trying to justify his Runner Up and not winning the Shoot-out?
WHO FUCKING CARES!!
The race is over, Tim won and YOU came in 2nd! Get over it or step it up next time!
I should go kick Ray in the junk for not stepping up his NOS jet...
