Awesome work! Always look forward to the pics!

They are original and Im leaving em that way as painted panels end up looking like poo.
Thanks! :)
In the words of Cleetus Mcfarland .... Hell yeah Brother :bigthumb
Nice to see the video of it moving under its own power! The engines sound so good!
Im sure it wouldn't be easy finding a set of tan quarter plastics in good shape. I always hated the thoughts of the interior dye also. Best to leave them as they are.
Man its nice to hear a Mustang sound like a Mustang and not an LS swap. Nice job Craig! and Paul for ironing out the electrical issues.
It is 100% about prep and using the proper products, I dyed my current dash from porno red to titanium and you'd be hard pressed to tell it isn't the factory dye.

Damn! That looks great!
I've used SEM interior paint before, it's badass.
I've had great success with the SEM paint as well
Thanks! I used SEM paint/dye. You'll want to scrub the panels good with TSP, then go over them with a wax and grease remover, next you'll want to put the adhesion promoter on there and then the paint/dye. It's a little bit of work but the results will be great and it won't chip or peel like the crap we used back in the day. With as nice as this build is I think it'd be worth your time.
Here's a link for SEM showing their products etc. https://www.semproducts.com/manage/h...g%20Manual.pdf

Yes. The VCT and DOHC setup eliminates that cammer sound even with larger cams up to a point. With separate exhaust and intake cams on VCT there is no overlap which creates so much of hte cam sound on a conventional pushrod engine or even on a 3V SOHC 4.6 with VCT. However, Ken can create overlap that takes place down low which will give you that fake cam sound. Whay you will notice (I have drien one with that "ghost cam" idle as they call it), that after the car settles to idle there will be a very short delay as VCT on both cams corrects to generate overlap for that cammer sound.
You probably already know this so I'm just yacking to hear myself yack. Don't mean to be sounding like I am trying to teach the teacher. No disrespect intended.
BTW I overthought on the 3V. While it has VCT it is a single cam so overlap will be in effect on those engines. They still have variable cam timing. It dose the same thing as the adjustable cam gears on an old school push rod engine that allows you to reposition cam to crank position giving you fine positioning aside from simply jumping a timing link and hoping that wasn't too much. the DOHC's give more versatility to the same concept. GT500's never had this technology btw in spite of their cam configuration. Sorry for the mistake on the 3V theory. I ran a custom grind Comp cam in my 2005. It was a mild mild that had a light cam sound that sounded best with LT's after I switched to them. Sorry to beat on. I believe in correcting my missed speaking when I realize it. Enjoy that beauty. I hope you'll bring it up and make some passes with the group in spite of Dickhead's proven dickness. Or at least let us know when you plan to run it at KK or TH if you decide to come up.
FINALLY!! I drove to the DMV to get an inspection, (which I found out I didnt need) and then went and got my tags!
Look close and you can see the officer, who just seconds before, walked behind my car and did not notice that I was rolling on slicks. I have DOTs coming in later today, but I wanted to make sure I had tags for tomorrow's Open House.

Its so cool to see it anywhere besides in my garage! I still need an alignment, but its kinda close. (I hope)
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...fab82af2_z.jpg
I did some Data logging for Ken, so hopefully he sends me a revision tune to where I can take it above 4500.
Makes all the hard work worth it once you are able to get it out and start showing it off. Looks good!
So awesome! Love this build! :bigthumb Hoping to be in the same boat soon on mine.
Thanks! I did receive my first, "Thumbs up" yesterday so that was pretty cool. :D
Thanks! Yours is getting close and I cant wait to see at KK!!
I adjusted the drivers side, front steering bump steer and the car felt a ton better! I could get on it without fear of going into the ditch! I also calibrated the Speedo and did some more Data Logs for KenB.

Hopefully I can have the tune and alignment finished up this week. Ive been slacking on pulling the plastic pieces out and re-finishing them as Ive had too much fun driving it. Well, its been Hell Fire HOT out, so that limits my garage time as well.
Looks great Craig, how about a rolling sound clip? Love how the dash looks stock 1984 but has an 8K tach and 160 vice 85mph Speedo.
Those gauges do look nice!!!
Still not a lot going on with the car, just driving it and data-logging for Ken. I drove it to work the other day and then met the wife downtown at a wine bar. It RIPS pretty good. Ken finally told me to get him some WOT DLs, so i did a few highway pulls. He told me to keep it under 6000, but man, from 4000 on, it pulls very fast! I "might have" seen 7, but I will neither confirm nor deny that.:D
I think I need to get the matching polished front rims to match the polished rears. The tires on the fronts here, are not DOT anyway, so I would then be 100% legal.

450 horses vs 1 Horsepower.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...0830f772_z.jpg
I still have everything to re-do the plastic pieces, but its been too damn hot in the garage and Im enjoying just driving it. I think Ill save that project for the wintertime.
Almost time for Logan's 2 minute car review ?!
Looks great Craig. Enjoy it, you've worked hard on it.
Back in the garage to upgrade my Clutch Master.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...6d65cd3b_k.jpg
This packing blanket makes those pesky seat studs, disappear!
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...96c9d7e7_k.jpg
Seems like the pedal comes off the floor, about 1/4'' and the clutch releases. Not a big deal until Im at 7200+ and I cant shift. So I talked with Tilton and he wants me to go to a 7/8 Master.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...20993faa_k.jpg
Cam, at Cambo Built, designed this assembly using the Wilwood, reverse pedal. I like having the Hyd set-up, but if this new Master, doesnt do the trick, Ill be swapping my Cable set-up back in.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...b915339b_k.jpg
I still need to address the plastic pieces and get the interior finished up...but its been to freakin HOT!
Nice!! Can’t wait to see how you like the upgrade.
I like the elephant pattern on the back drop. lol
How do yoh fill the master cylinder? Is it a pain?
So far, the pedal is A LOT better. I just have to get it back on the ground and try it out.
I have all kinds of "Shop Rags" that the wife has given me over the years. Bed sheets make for great dust covers and ole T-shirts make for great rags.
Its definitely a 2 person job. The reservoir mounts where the cable comes through the FW and uses the old screw that holds the CLucth cable adjuster piece. When I have to bleed it, I have to un-screw the fastener and hold the reservoir as high as I can get it. Once its all done, I can put back on the FW.
I figured I better come up with a "pedal stop" before I re-install my assembly.
So I did some measuring of how far the pedal swings back.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...0928227d_k.jpg
Went to Lowes and got some 1-1/2 x 3/16 steel and made a pilot hole.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...bc4ea34a_k.jpg
Made it a tad longer so that I could fine tune it.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...521d2628_k.jpg
Fugged up and took off too much. Re measured and decided I could just flip what I have.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...ef3013aa_k.jpg
Cleaned it up with some acetone
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...c34fdb4d_k.jpg
and threw on some paint
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...55eb6f10_k.jpg
Installed a rivet and checked the distance on more time.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...fd391741_k.jpg
Then snapped it off and VIOLA!! A custom Pedal Stop on my custom pedal assembly.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...616b7554_k.jpg
I had my neighbor help me bleed the new Master and when I finally got it done, the pedal felt so much better! Im excited for some dry roads so that I can get the Mustang out and about to make sure its working correctly.
Thanks for tuning in.
That's awesome Craig, good on you...
Congrats. Sounds like it was all worth it.
Thanks!
Hopefully so!
I did manage to get to work on it some more last night.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...822637ae_k.jpg
Not a fan of a reservoir, holding brake fluid, hanging over nice new paint, but I gotta do this to get all the air out of the system.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...78d30d07_k.jpg
I did get the dash and everything in the interior buttoned up
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...713e57dd_k.jpg
But, Im missing one bolt for the rear seat belt assembly, so Ill pick one up at Fastenal later today and hopefully have it installed this evening. Thats why I left the drivers seat out. (no, I didnt restore the plastic panels yet)
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...5f58b004_k.jpg
Hopefully Im banging gears tonight!!
So clean looking!
I like the polished wheel look on it
Nice mahi mahi !!
Thanks!
They were the cheapest option for my DOTs. I was debating on getting the front runners to match, but I ran out of $$$$
Best Fathers Day ever! 2017 I took my Father and Brother in law out from St Johns, VI and it was an amazing day trip! My Father in law caught one around the same size and his is mounted over his fireplace.
So I finished up the Mustang last night and got the rear seat (kinda) mounted. The Back part is just sitting there and not actually mounted. Under some hard braking, it fell forward. So Ill have to address that when I get home.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...ce74d0db_k.jpg
My shop cat, Recee enjoys the passenger seat after she walked all over in the interior checking it out.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...b69b2710_k.jpg
Finally! I got to actually Bang some gears on the way into work today! The clutch pedal feels so much better and engages about half way into the stroke, so much freakin better!!
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...8edeaee6_k.jpg
Logan, Clap'd out fame, told me we are doing his 2 minute Car review, so be looking for that later today. Should be interesting...
Niiiiiiiice!!!!
