Teaching myself how to stick weld. I got it seal up well on this Stainless test piece. Going make crossover pipe towards the front of the car and leave space hopefully for T4 turbo.

The motor is assembled now. Measured the pushrods and bought a new set. Never had to do that before.

Went ahead and sealed up the egr hole.

I tried to stick weld once....................once. (Johnny Dangerously reference). Looks really good. I want to be there when you roll into E20 with it next season to see the facial expressions. That Cobra looks in dire need of some drive time.

    Made little bit more progress.
Added 50LB injectors, cleaned up the motor a bit and ordered turbo for it. Just trying to decide now when to pull the B230 out.

Thanks! I’m planning on getting slicks for it. I ran it late last year and I think there is some room for improvement with its current setup. I’ve been throwing the idea of getting a fox body and throwing the Volvo motor in it and replacing the rods with some H-beams.

These are mostly parts. I have a black 01 V6 car that will be sold complete.

The rest are either no title (salvage) or rusted way beyond fixing.

The old starter was covered in rust. Cleaned it up and painted it. Kinda of rewarding to make it look better.

I’m going to have to clean the rest with a dremel tool but I’m ok with where it’s at now.

Little sentimental, today was my last voyage with the Redblock motor. This will be the first time since I was born not to have a red block powered car in the family. I wish my dad was still around when the old redblock engine pushed the brick into the 12s. He was an old Mopar, Mg and 70-80s Volvo mechanic. He ran a 13 second 318 Plymouth back in the 60s and Volvo motors were just reliable and slow transportation to him. He was utterly surprised it went 14.0 before he passed. I’ll start pulling the motor out this upcoming week.

That little motor was sure impressive! Im sure he would be just as shocked as the rest of us are with how it ran. 12's will be a breeze next year on motor alone.

It wasn’t too bad for what it was. I’m sure if I changed the rods and the transmission out I could pushed it a bit harder. I’ve had upped the boost and rpm before and the car was quicker that way. Problem is the Aw72 transmission in it doesn’t like being pushed as hard as I was pushing it and I didn’t trust pushing the stock rods much further. The day I ran a 12 I would add a 1psi boost and drop about a tenth of a second. Started at 20 psi and ended at 27. Called it a day when it went 12.9.
