I know last year there were people on the list that did'nt make it to the shootout. I think it has been said that you need to be a particpant on the sight and "drive" your car to at least one if not both of the cruises. I think last year the cut off for the DD was when the local tracks close.

The rules are stated pretty clearly on the first page of this post. It doesn't say anything about a mandatory shootout day, I think that would be nice, but stuff happens when you have a family and other responsibilities.

    So lets recap.....

-A Participating member of Stangbangerz. That means, you show up to SBZ events, you show up to some SBZ get-togethers, you also make one of the following:
    -Running of the Ponys
    -Running of the Dozen
-Local T&T at E20 or TS with fellow SBZ members
-Running of the UMTR with fellow SBZ
-Attend the SBZ Track day in July
The Dirty Dozen was started by Vinny to get ALL of us motivated to come out and enjoy our Stangs together. We all know Vinny loved being with everyone at the track and he looked forward to racing along side each of
The Dozen Shootout dates are not mandatory. Participation in the site and the events is what we are looking for. Oh yea the last day for the 2007 Ditry Dozen is anything that ends with 2008.

Exactly. If the powers that be wanted to be a stickler about rules, half of the list would have been disqualified last year for using trailers! (I DROVE mine by the way) I am trying hard to make it to the Nov. 3 event, but it would be b.s. to cut me if I didn't!

Why would they have been disqualified last year for using a trailer? Read the rules the way they are written. There are people who trailered their cars on saturday they are not excluded from the list.

My bad. I thought that was how it was originally intended to go down (at the shootout last year). I thought that was part of the rules last year. I thought it had been changed from so many disagreeing with it.

You've been busting your butt all year and have been a top contender...no way you should be tossed of the list. If someone cant make the run, then they should have a good excuse...simple.
I have a trailer, if Im racing, Im trailering. Shit happens at the track and Im not leaving my family on the side of the road while I hitch a ride to go home to get my trailer.

I talked to Jason today, he had a valid point. Why should he try to get down a shitty track when someone else has a well prep track? I belive he was trying to say, one day, one track, even playing field. But you can ask him.

I guess everyone is forgetting that VINNY just wanted all of us to be out hammering on our cars and enjoying what we do.

I want to start off by saying i'm not trying to take away from the original intent of this by any means. It's a great thing Vinny started, but alot of people, including myself, unfortunately get a little too caught up in it. Jason, you do make a good point, but what if someone on the list runs slower at the shootout then what they had previously posted. Are they going to use that time instead?

The hole point off a shootout is to get everybody together and to watch everybody try to make there car as fast as they can . AND TO HAVE FUN. your never going to make everyone happy .If you dont have to make the shootout then why go ? I would much rather go to a preped track and try to get the best time. and then you have people who shit broke and they just say i could not make . Well i could not make it to race my car in a nmra race i guess they should just let me win no if you want to play you got to pay !! Just buy showing up and racing your car with your bud is a very little to pay .I like the idea of running till the local tracks close because it is not far to the people who cant aford or have the means to get down south to race . remeber FUN !!!!!!!!

Me too! I was kidding about the FL thing.

When E20, TS and KK are done. So should the dozen. (IMO)
