i was under the impression that the shootout was a "true street" type thing.

Obviously it's not.

And for the record. I drove my car 4 hours each way to the world finals last year as well.

You mean the street car with stickers that drove 49 miles to the track starting this morning driving it to work through the rain.

racing on street legal tires, then driving it 49 miles home. a/c blue tooth, stereo, 3935 lb race weight?

or the trailered car that drove 14 miles on full slicks?

i don't run slicks, my car is a street car. the way i drove it 100 miles today, is the same way i drive it every day.

i'm very pleased with the car. i could jump in the car and drive it to florida. stop at the track, run a great number and drive home

He's a buddy of mine.But I left early and didnt know who won..It dont get much more of a streetcar than the capri.He just changed the tires because he thought there would be more fast stuff there like last year.

one of the spouses to one of the spectators overheard someone pointing out that none of the fast cars were street cars.

then she educated him on mine.

i'm very happy to have the fastest car there that drove there, drove home, and drove on street legal tires.

i have no interest in a car that i cant drive 45 minutes to the track

It didnt come with a/c You work at a dealership right?Do a little research monday and see if a 79 capri came with bluetooth.....People complain everytime Craig puts one of these on.Oh well its still fun.Props to ya Craig it was fun!!I'll have mine together for the fall shootout if there is one!!!!

But it's not as close to a street car as you can get. If it was, it would have made the 40-50 minute drive.

In addition, slicks. Slicks are 100% illegal on the street. That in itself makes the car in that trim, not a street car.

Next time, put on some e.t. streets, drive the 40-50 minutes each way, and drive home.

For the record Tim is from TRENTON not MIDDLETOWN. Why so bitter?? He did exactly what was required just like EVERYONE else to participate in the race. Just because you drove a little further who gives a fuck if you have "a/c and bluetooth"... yours is MORE of a street car? What does that mean? You either have a street car...or you dont! Your car looks like something from Fast and Furious..not a "regular" street car. I couldnt even hear the capri over your loud ass streetcar! FUCKIN SORE LOSER!!!

I'm not bitter. I never read the rules til yesterday. I saw "street" car shootout and assumed it was for street cars. I was wrong. Craig even said that if a pro stock guy wants to drive his car for 14 miles, he can run it.

I didn't go in expecting to win. I went there hoping to be the fastest car that drove to the track and home, and i did exactly that!

Well I didn't get to go because I didn't have time to get my car cleaned up. Glad I didn't if they are crying over the capri.
