Not sure what is under the black paint....what do you recommend to strip the paint? I thought about acetone.

I can strip the paint but I would really want to see the condition of the metal. That old pot metal can be a challenge

I believe I put the wrong name on it it. It is shocker yellow over silver metallic. Here is the same color done on a set of brake calipers for a member of SB I just did today

Almost completely forgot about this thread till a link was posted about it. Things have been great and still coating full time. In fact this last summer I built a new shop/toy box. Did a 50x30 with 14" walls, 12x12 front doors, 10x9 back door, full room for my powder coating, bathroom, hot water heater, 2 hvac systems, storage room for chemicals/air compressor and tons of lighting. Had a lift bought but the deal fell thru so I went ahead and got a new tire machine and balancer. Buying a mustang soon so the lift will have to wait till the summer. Here are some pics so you guys will know what you are looking for when you come down for coating work.

Sir. Just bought an '05 Road King Custom. The factory wheels have seen better days. I found a guy on eBay who offers and exchange to refinish them. Can you do this? Here are pics of what they look like after..
Can you mimic this finish?? Quote??

Well good to know!
Let me ask this since you are the professional. Is that the color you would go with?
Any better options?
How long would you need the wheels?
Also, what is your physical address to drop things off?

Do you do ceracote?
mustangboy
03-24-2014, 08:12 PM
I have done ceracote in the past and it is a really good product I just don't have time to do it anymore. Someone could make some damn good money if they wanted to give it a shot

Or do you have another idea for an Ar upper and lower and barrel
mustangboy

No I would do the ceracote for sure. Just don't know anybody local that does it. I've tried to talk people into it but no one want to make any money. There is nearly a full time job in it if someone wanted to take it on

What is the actual demand for this type of stuff? I have been looking at investing into something for me and my son.

Demand is pretty high. Maybe not enough to support a full time business to start but definitely enough for a good side business

I'm very interested in this idea, do you have any leads?
Do you have idea on equipment and processes to do this?
You can just PM me any info that you have.
Thanks

No hydro is different. Ceracote is a ceramic based liquid that is generally applied with an airbrush, which the harbor freight one works fine. It.is a very durable corrosive resistant coating. Go to NIC industries website they have several videos you can watch on the product.

I did end up going on their website and checking it out, I'm going to contact them and see what we can do in this area for distributorship.
